Most boxes of contacts have 6 contact lenses in each box. So that gives you 12 pairs for ordering 4 boxes.
I believe that the freshlook colorblends are approved by the FDA to be worn for 2 weeks and then thrown away. However, strange as this sounds, they are approved to be worn for 7 days and 6 nights WITHOUT taking them out. Then you take them out for one night. Then you put the same pair back in for another 7 days and 6 nights. Then you throw that pair away and start a new pair. And that is the 2 weeks. (*If you read the package insert, that is what it says.*) Sounds kind of confusing, but that’s what it is.
However, an eye doctor has the authority to prescribe the contact lenses however he/she sees as fit and safe for the patient. After all, contact lenses ARE a prescription, just like you’d have to go to the pharmacy to get medication. So what many optometrists (eye doctor) will do is say that you can wear one pair of lenses for one month but do NOT sleep in them. Since you are wearing them less than they are actually FDA approved for, you can wear them longer.
So if you are really unsure of what YOU are supposed to do in YOUR case, give your doctor a call who gave you the contact lenses and ask! Believe me, your doctor will be much happier that you call or stop in if you have a question, than for you to wear your contact lenses in a way that they did not want.
Contacts that are to be used for a month usually come 6 in a box for one eye and 6 in a box for the other eye.
4 boxes @ 6 per box = 24 lenses = 12 pairs, so that is for a year with monthly lenses.
The Freshlooks are a strange case because they are approved as a 2 week lens in North America, but are approved as a monthly lens in the UK.
So, in the UK, 4 boxes is a year supply, but in North America 8 boxes is a year supply IF you use them as a 2 week lens
