How Much Do Contact Lenses Cost?

I have never had an eye exam before, but I am confident I have really bad eyes.
Tomorrow I am going to my first eye exam ever, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting glasses but I have really bad social anxiety and I judge myself a lot and I’d really like contact lenses.
I’m 17 years old.
My dad says contact lenses are too much and apparently only rich people and movie stars wear them but I know so many of my friends who wear them aswell.. I really don’t want to wear glasses.
What would be a reasonable price range?

They can be really pricey. Depending on the brand they can range from 20-60 dollars a BOX. If you have astigmatism (like my friend) they can get as expensive as 80 dollars. I am 16 and I wear contacts. I highly recommend them. They’re soo worth the money. Do you have VISION INSURANCE? if not, look into it. I know it covers a LOT of the expense of contacts. In a box there are i think 3 pairs of contacts. That will last you a while! Also, different brands and prescriptions will cause the price to be different( I recommend Acuvue Oasis). Talk to your dad about it maturely and see what he says. Offer to pay half of every box? Good luck, and remember GLASSES ARN’T THAT BAD! you can get some pretty stylish ones that everyone will love :}
