How Much Does an Eye Exam and Contacts Cost at Walmart?

I want to get contacts before school starts and I was wondering how much the exam for contacts and the contacts themselves cost. I don’t have insurance. Also, how long can you keep contacts in your eyes and what do they do in the exam? I’ve had an exam for eyeglasses about 2 years ago, but never for contacts.
um..I can’t afford insurance. -_-

The eye exam is usually free. You should be paying for only the contacts.
If you have insurance, and you are under 25 years old and a full-time student….you pay nothing.
Following up on Kosher’s excellent post. If you don’t have insurance then the cost will depend on the strength of the contacts.
