It varies by location. I would recommend seeking out a reputable doctor and getting a good value for your eye exam rather than a cheap eye exam. Some of the doctors at these locations are excellent and others can be less caring. Ask your family doctor or school nurse for a referral.
In any case you are not obligated to buy glasses when you get an eye exam because your doctor looks for more than the need for glasses. You will also have a review of your overall healh, examined for eye disease and eye muscle coordination testing.
varies by location, but keep in mind that there are different kinds of wal-mart optical. there’s the ones owned by wal-mart and there is national visions inside wal-mart (the doctor’s exam is normally given by a First Sight doctor) . i work for a National Vision/First Sight and our basic eye exam (includes Rx) is $58, contact exams start at $89 and goes to $114 (includes basic eye exam and one pair of trials). $114 is for astigmatism, bifocal, monovison or specialty made contacts like RGP (rigid gas permable) i don’t know if all national visions are the same price though. hope this helps. oh and no, take your RX where ever you want, even online or another company if you want.
