How Old Were You When You First Started Using Eye Glasses or Contact Lenses ?
My eye sight is getting worse every year.
I’m just wondering how old were you when you start using eye glasses or contact lenses ?
After start wearing eye glasses, is there a possibility that your eye sight improve so you don’t have to wear it anymore or just gets worse each year.
Thank you for your help !

I was 18 when I got glasses, I have never used contact lenses.
For some people, they just need glasses for a little while and their eyes get better. As for me, I am getting worse as times goes on, but I’ve grown to accept it.
About 16. Unfortunately i think they’ve gradually been getting worse according to the eye doctors. But i’m 19 now and don’t really notice the change.
My eyes started going bad very early. I think it was around 2nd grade that a teacher finally noticed me squinting and told my parents that she thought something was wrong, but I’m pretty sure that my vision was going bad a lot sooner than that. I started contacts just yesterday.
As far as your eye sight improving, I’ve never heard of someone’s eyes improving to the point that their vision is perfect again….
Good luck!
Ha! Mine too.
I started wearing glasses when I was 3 years old. Bifocals. Then when I was 19 and an irresponsible college student, I accidentally sat on them and they broke. Darn! So I didn’t wear them until about two years ago when I had to get the magnifying kind at the drugstore. (I was fine and had no troubles until recently). Now I am almost 45 and can barely see my toes when I try to polish them. Grrr. I have to get bifocals again but I’m too lazy!
10.
Good luck
i started using glasses when i was 12. that’s pretty early compared to others.
there are however ways to improve your eyesight when your degree is still low. a friend of mine drinks carrot juice everyday and her eyesight eventually becomes better.
but if your degree is high, it is very high unlikely to improve your eyesight unless you plan on doing laser surgery. from what i heard, keep on wearing glasses/contact lenses is much better than straining your eyes/wearing it simultaneously.
I was 7, Your vision should stabilize at about 18 or a bit older I know quite a few people who had poor eye sight and wore glasses all the time. As they got older they no longer needed the glasses for reading. Unfortunately, by older I mean like 50 plus. Sorry, this is not what you wanted to hear.
I was eight years old when I began to need glasses for myopia. There is some chance of self-correction as the skull continues to grow, but it isn’t very great. My eyesight continued to worsen until sometime in my twenties. As I hit my mid-forties, I had to get multi-focals to accommodate the natural stiffening of my eye lenses due to aging. In my early 60′s, I had lasik eye surgery to correct the myopia (so I could drive and do other things without glasses), but I still required reading glasses. My vision has been stable since then.
I was 11 when i started wearing them. My left eye is farsighted and my right eye is nearsighted. Usually, they balance each other out so i can clearly see what i need to see. I think that harms my eyes, though. Yes, my eyesight has gotten worse. My right eye can only see the largest letter on the chart, and i can’t see the computer screen with my left eye. I eat carrots and do eye exercises each day, but i don’t think that helps much.
I was 7 when I started to need glasses and 16 when I started wearing contact lenses. My eyes have gotten a *little* worse every year but according to the other answerers it is possible for your vision to get better if you take the right steps.
