Contact Lens City

Im stationed on a navy base, and active duty personnel gets issued a free pair of glasses. and that you have an option of getting an eye health exam to determine if yoyou can wear contacts.
I did the free eye health exam and my doctor said I can wear contacts. when i picked up my free prescription glasses he said something about taking the prescription slip that he gave me to an optical that accepts TRICARE and that i would get contacts for a low price..
Is this true? what am I supposed to do? My doctor didn’t really give much detail on this.
