How to Wear Toric Contact Lenses?
I got toric contact lenses last week and I noticed that there are straight lines in each of my contacts. Am I supposed to wear them a certain way on my eyes?

Toric contacts are made for people with astigmatism. Astigmatism is corrected with a power & an angle. In order to achieve the correct angle, the lens is weighted. The lines are a guide for you to insert them, but since they’re weighted anyway, they will rotate to the correct angle no matter how you put them on. Just wait for about five minutes for your vision to be clear, since it will be blurry until the lens is rotated properly.
They are made thicker and heavier on the edge that is meant to be on the bottom so they will rotate into position automatically.
Was this not explained to you? Toric lenses can be a friggin nightmare in some situations. Your eye doctor should have explained things such as you may find it hard to use a computer or read or any activity where your eyes move quickly and cause the lenses to spin out of position. My eye doctor actually tried to talk me out of wearing contacts for this very reason.
i wear toric too
the lines (/// ///) have to go on the bottom of eye.
my toric lenses are to be put in the same way as regular. You just put it on your finger and let it "suction" itself to your eye over the iris.
Toric lenses are weighted so they align themselves on your eyes the right way. They have different strengths so you can see at all distances. They are thicker than regular lenses and need to be cleaned every day. Don’t wear them asleep because they get gummy and your eyes feel horrible.
