1. You should never wear contacts when you sleep, but if you do end up wearing them and you pass out somewhere one night, it should be fine. Your eyes will be super dry though and maybe red. Anything longer, then put them into two separate glasses of water (shot glasses work best as an impromptu contact lens case) and then go to bed. Putting your contacts in the next day might hurt because of the "hardness" from the water, but it’s better than leaving them in your eye.
2. All contacts "expire" after a period of time. You can still wear them after this, but deposits can build up that you’ll be able to feel (as when you put in a fresh pair you’ll say to yourself "Wow! I can hardly feel a thing!" and they are prone to ripping.
3. re: good for the eyes? They should be as I see them being sold in legit contact/eyeglass stores.
4. That something that you feel is probably a protein deposit, but if you’re a girl sometimes a fleck of mascara can get in there and you won’t notice it until you take the contact out. I recommend washing your hands and keeping them WET (as fibers from towels both paper and cloth can get on your fingers and then your contacts) and then cleaning your lenses and putting them back in your eye.
Edit: I’m not a doctor, but I have cried 209843092 times wearing contacts and have never had a problem. I also *do* wear them when swimming as my vision is so bad that I need corrective lenses or I’d be blind. Glasses aren’t an option really. We had to take swimming for a trimester at my high school and I wore contacts then and it was never a problem. I did avoid getting water in my eyes though.
Ok.
1. No. You shouldn’t wear contacts when you sleep, cry, swim, or go to the opthamologist.
2. You probably wouldn’t know. Just keep track very carefully, and follow the instructions. Your eyes aren’t something to mess around with, or to try and get more use out of contacts.
3. They don’t really matter. Is wearing a certain shirt good for your skin?
4. That’s ok. You do, after all, have something in your eye. Blink a few times, and ignore it. If it gets really bad, pull the skin below the eyes down. http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/Consumers/cmi/t/tobrexointpic1.gif
