I Have Slept in Soft Contact Lenses for About 2 Hours 15 Minutes. Is That Ok?

I am 13 years old and i wear soft contact lenses. I just fell asleep in the car for about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Now i want to take them out, but is it ok? I don’t have any eye drop by the way.

It is OK. But, don’t make it a habit. The lense might dry in your eyes because when you are asleep, you don’t know if your eyes move. Movement of your eyes are good in lubricating the lense.

It will not be OK if it irritates your eye.

Perfectly Fine!! I Were My Contacts For Two Weeks Strait Then Take Them Out And Get A New Pair!! Just Blink Your Eyes Realy Fast For A Few Seconds!! If You Want To Take Them Out It’s Ok To!! They May Have Slid Over To The Corner Of Your Eye And Just Stick Your Finger On The Contact And Slide Them Back Over The Top Of Your Iris!!

NOOOOO! my sister jsut got contacts and she is 14, well if you packed drops, stop at a station and take them out as soon as you can if not, you should wear your glasses( which you should keep if somthing like this happens)

Ideally it would be better if you had drops in before you took them out, but no harm will come of it. so try not to worry,

Take them out after you have been awake for a while, because after waking up, the lenses tend to be stuck to your eyes a bit. So, don’t cause trauma by trying to remove them too soon, but when they appear to be moving freely, take them out and give your eyes a rest.

As regards other answers given here: only some lenses can be worn for weeks straight and then thrown out – if yours are like that, your optom would have told you.
