I'm 13 and I Wanted to Wear Contact Lenses Instead of Eyeglasses Because I Hear That It Reduces the Eye Grade.?

I’m wearing eyeglasses since 10 years old and I’m still wearing it now that I’m 13 and my eye grade keeps on increasing. I hear that contact lenses reduces the eye grade so I suggested that to my mom and she won’t budge. I think I have to check on my doctor first but is it true that contact lenses reduces the eye grade? I think I have Myopia and I badly wanted my eye grade to decrease. Are there any way to let it decrease aside from surgery?

Contact lenses will not cause your ‘eye grade’ (prescription) to decrease. There is some evidence that using ortho-k lenses might slow down the increase in myopia. Apart from surgery that’s the best you can possibly do. Your prescription will probably stop increasing when you are about 20.

my mom said contact lense are dangerous, she thinks contact can make me BLIND i have not idea where she got the from.
im 13 now im not a lil kid anymore, people keep calling a nerd and make fun of me bc im wearing these stupid glasses around school. ! and its really annoy when the weather change (SUMMER) its so annoy when i play sports, when i run my glasses never stay on my nose, when i play volley ball i suppose to jump up and hit the ball my glasses fall off. i really pissed at my mom. she told me if i ever ask her to get contact lense im grounded ! its terrible to have a Vietnamese parents !!! how the heck can contact lense make me BLIND
