Is It Illegal to Sell Circle Contact Lens in Canada?

I buy circle lens myself, and they’re prescripted and all. I also asked my eye doctor and she said I can wear contacts. Anyways, on facebook I see alot of groups selling circle lens. I bought circle lens from one of these groups too but one of the owners were my brothers friends so yeah. When I got them, they had a verify sticker on them so yoyou can verify them on the contact brands site and see if they’re real or not. All of mine are real. I also heard on news that circle lens are dangerous but I personally think thats all bs because I’ve been wearing these lens for over 6 months, went to the eye doctor and told me my eyes are healthy (LADY GAGA DID NOT FREAKIN START THE TREND)

To get to the point, I buy circle lens and sell them to classmates or people in my school. Is that illegal? I tell them to go to the eye doctor first, and they do, I also tell them what not to do, and what to do, I give them a guide too. ( they’re all non-prescripted ).
But can they sue me if I write that I’m not responsible for their actions that lead them to an eye infection ?

It is illegal to be selling contacts if you are not a licensed eyecare professional, yes.

Just a word of caution. If any of your friends develop a serious problem , and his parents decide to sue you for supplying them , you can face fines of up to $2500.00 for each offense. People have been charged. A few corner stores, a few beauty stores, hairdressers, ect.

You tell them to go to the Dr. first, and they do…oh, yes I’m sure….that wouldn’t make any difference anyway.

All is fine until someone makes a complaint and gets the law involved, then you may have big problems.

    EDIT****

Lol…nice try , but you can’t claim you aren’t responsible for their actions when it is you doing the illegal part by supplying them. Written contracts of any kind aren’t legal if you are all under 18 anyway.

Contact lenses are a medical device. They also lie on your eye tissues for a long time during your wear. So the safest thing to do is to buy lenses that are recommended by your eye doctor so that you may be safe. Now the circle lenses like all lenses have specifications for fitting. These specifications or parameters will determine how well or how bad the lenses will fit onto your eye. They will also determine whether they are too tight or too loose on your eye. The only way that you can determine when the parameters are correct is to have the lenses fitted properly.
That is what you should be concerned with. You don’t want any of your friends running into problems with infections or corneal ulcers because the lenses are not the right ones for their eyes.
In any case you need to decide for yourself on the level of risk you wish to consider for you. Do you want to make the same evaluation for your friends?
