Is It Ok to Wear Contact Lenses in the Ocean?

The soft kind, not the hard ones. If it’s not ok, does wearing goggles as well make it ok?

I go swimming quite a bit in the ocean, but I usually don’t wear my contacts. However, it’d be nice to be able to see properly for once while at the beach, since I rarely bring my glasses anywhere I won’t be wearing them all the tI ame for fear of losing them.

I wear them at the beach. Bring an extra set and some saline, or your glasses, to keep in your car, in case a wave hits you in the face and washes one out.

of course it is but you definitely don’t want to open your eyes under water as you might lose the contact lenses.

There is always a chance of losing them but that’s not the end of the world if you use disposable contact lenses like I do (e.g. that I change every month)

I wear my contacts at the beach, but I’ll tell you right now that it’s extremely uncomfortable once they go dry or you get something in your eye. (sand, water, ect.)

Make sure to bring solution and rinse your contacts well after taking them out for the day.
