Is It Okay to Use Colored Contact Lenses?

sooo, i’m 15 and i really want a pair of non-prescription, green colored contacts. i have to pay for it myself if i want them, so a pair from the eye doctor is kind of not an option. I was thinking about getting them from a site called hollywoodcolorcontacts.com. i can get them there for about , but i’m scared because of the horror stories i’ve heard about people using unsafe colored contacts. it says on the site that the contacts are FDA approved and one-size-fits-all. i know the best thing to do for getting colored contacts is go to an eye doctor, but do you think it’s okay to trust this site? i dunno! help! i just want fun lenses!
by the way, the site says that all lenses are "standard size" B.C. 8.7 Dia 14.4.

I wouldn’t trust it simply for the statement ‘one size fits all’. Contacts should never be ‘one size fits all’. They should be properly fitted to YOUR eyes.

For example, I just checked my sizes for my contacts. My B.C. is 8.6 and my Dia is 14.5. They’re sizing is B.C. 8.7 Dia 14.4 so clearly those wouldn’t fit my eyes properly.

When it comes to your eyes, it’s best to not go cheap. Spend the money to get your eyes properly checked out by the eye doctor, and get the correct sizing for your eyes, then shop around for contacts. You can still purchase non prescription contacts.

Colored contacts are NEVER one-size-fits-all. Also, decent colored contacts are AT LEAST $25 for each of your eyes, so if you want contacts for both your eyes, 50 dollars. Please, please get your pupil measured by a proper doctor. I know a person who went almost blind doing this.

Contacts are NOT EVER one-size-fits-all. You need to go to an eye doctor and get them there, otherwise you will probably end up with contacts that are either too small and break blood vessels and damage your eyes, or contacts that are too big and slide around and look really fake.

I use to wear colored contacts. I bought them from my eye doctor and never had a problem with them…except…. I found that when people would comment on how pretty my eyes are I felt like a fraud. I’ve sinced stopped wearing them, and am much more content and happy with what God gave me. Now when people say I have beautiful eyes…it’s all me! But in response to your question…I wouldn’t personally trust wearing something that didn’t come from your eye doctor…your vision is nothing to mess around with.

No..its not ok. they arnt going to fit your pupil right. and they will prob. break blood vessels from being an improper fit.
