WARNING!!! DO NOT DO IT! IT IS UNSAFE! And most of those websites don’t offer returns! They are mostly SCAMS!

I once bought red contact lens from his website and the next thing i know i have a torn, sharp feeling contact in my eye and I can’t get it out! I had to get my best friend to drive me to the Ophthalmologist or eye doctor and get it taken out very carefully by the doctor himself! The lens wouldn’t even wash out or come out like normal ones do! It was horrible! And this isn’t a fake story trying to scare you!

It is quite safe to buy contact lenses online; many online firms have optical specialists working for them just like normal opticians. In addition, online firms buy the lenses with the right prescription directly from the original producer, which are the same producers that produce for all (offline) optical stores. The only difference is that some (offline) optical store rebrand the package to their house-brand. When it comes to defective lenses, you have the same chance of buying a defective lens at a normal store as online. Usually 1 out 500 boxes contain a defective lens, so chances are rather small. But if it occurs, you can return it and get a free replacement.

If you don’t need glasses or contacts, you still need a prescription for colored contact lenses. This is because contact lenses need to have the same curvature as your eye. This is also called the Base Curve (B.C.) and holds usually a value between 8.0 and 9.5. Wearing contact lenses with a wrong B.C. can damage your cornea, so it is strongly recommended that you first get a prescription.

In addition, during your test the optometrist will ensure you can get the contact lenses in and out properly, and will provide you with important tips for wearing them. Please be advised that these skills and this information will also help you with preventing eye damage.
