Is It Safe to Wear Contact Lens on Roller Coasters?
Question by Kim38: Is it safe to wear contact lens on roller coasters?
I’m thinking about getting contact lens and I love roller coasters. Will the wind from the ride dry up the contact lens and cause damage?

No, it will be fine. It is very hard to keep your eyes open the whole time, and your eyes will most likely be watering.
Have fun!

i love roller costers and i’ve been wearing contact lens for 10 years and there is some dryness once in awhile maybe 3 times in the last 8 years, so i just carry some eye drops. i’ve never had and damage or anything.

Bring a bottle of Re-wetting drops if you are worried about them drying out. Rollercoasters don’t really last long enough to seriously damage your contacts. I’ve found that it is more drying to my contacts to sleep in them then to go on a rolleroaster or similar activities like sticking my head out of a car window. (haha) I’ve worn contacts since 1995 and have been on many rollercoasters with no problems.

I wore contact lenses for roller coaster rides before but found it abit hard to keep my eyes open as I fear they might “fly out” due to dryness, but generally i guess it’s ok although you may wish to get some lens drops to reduce the dry eye discomfort.
However, I know that not all kinds of rewetters can be used when with your lenses on as it may damage the quality of the contact lens. Instead, use contact lens drops that are especially made for contact lens wearers. The Complete Blink-n-clean lens drops is one of them, if you can get them from your country.
Hope it helps!!
