Is Wearing Colored Circle Contact Lenses Considered Vain?

I really want to buy them but I don’t want to be vain…is it considered vain? My religion is very strict on vanity, however, it’s ok to straighten/curl/style your hair in my religion…so is wearing colored circle contact lenses more vain then that? (I hope you understand what I am getting at)
If I get them, they will be sI amilar to that of my own eye color and they will be prescription, so they will help my vision as well.

ohh. well thats is your religion, if it didnt have to do anything with your religion i would say "why does some girls get tan, boob job, botox, even braces." (to make them prettier) its really up to you though. i own circle lenses, to me i dont really think its vain. who doesnt want to be prettier, but if its to the point of where you are totally FAKE. then that a different story lol. all circle lenses does is enhances your eyes to make them seem bigger and brighter. its like volumizing your hair to make it look bigger. truly though its really up to you. :) and if you are going to buy some i can show you some that looks really natural i have lots of pic of different circle lenses on my blogspot. link: http://hungryformuffins.blogspot.com/

its pretty much telling the world "hey, i think i look better than what i was born with," so yes, it can be seen as vain.

EDIT: if it’s similar to your eye color, why get colored ones?

Are you waring contacts only to change your eye color, or are they colored contacts to help your vision?
I do not see an issue with it, but also I am not religious at all.
Also, have you tried wearing contact before? I wear them occasionally when I do not want to wear my glasses, and I can vouch now that they are not the most comfortable things to wear!

I was going to say no until you said it was a religious matter….I would check with someone in your church.

well not vain.. but not likin who you are.. well since you probably have your parent/s eye color. im getting colored contacts, for vision too because i would love to have the ability to have a different eye color, but also want contacts ( i wear glasses sometimes ). so if its just for changing your color.. then probably dont get them.

Honestly I think it is a little bit but if your religion lets you change your hair I suppose it would be ok to wear colored contacts.

I have seen people with colored contact lenses. They look freaky and artificial. The human iris is behind the transparent cornea. But the color contact lenses are opaque on top of the cornea. People may not be able to tell from a distance. But everyone who talk to you face to face will be able to tell something is wrong with your eyes. In short you’d look inhuman. Vain or not vain is only second consideration.

It can actually help a first time contacts wearer to have a slightly colored lens. It makes it easier to find in the solution when you are putting them on without glasses on, and if you were to drop one of them. My first set of contacts were slightly tinted blue (I have blue eyes) and it didn’t change my eye color at all.
