My Question About Contact Lens?
I use contact lens. yest I met my opthalmist and discovered that my power has increased to -2.0 on righteye and -2.5 on the left eye.
I use Bausch and Lomb disposable lenses. The optometrist was out of stock of -2.5. Nevertheless he suggested that I could as well use -2.25. His reasoning: the power readings the doctor suggested was for spectacles and not for lenses. A small delta of -0.25 can actually be ignored in case of contact lenses.
Is he correct? should I go ahead and buy the -2.25?

yeah, that’s true. With glasses there’s obviously a small gap between your eye and the actual lens so often, contact lens prescriptions have to be lowered slightly to accommodate the fact the lens sits directly on the eye. I can’t actually wear my glasses prescription as contacts because it’s too strong and gives me headaches. In this situation you’ll find that -0.25 won’t make any difference.
I agree, going with -2.25 instead of -2.50 would be ok – I’ve done that myself. However, I do not recommend that you go the other way meaning do not wear -2.75. Go weaker, not stronger.
In your case, wear -2.0 for right eye, and -2.25 or -2.50 for left eye (not -2.25 for both)
If he is "out of stock", and you’re not comfortable with that….
