Also, I got a free trial certificate from acuvue & freshlook. Does that include color contacts? And one last question, if I do need to see an eye doctor to buy colored contacts, how much does an eye exam cost (estimated)?

I’m using a specific multi-purpose contact lens care solution and would like to continue using this brand if at all possible (as it’s the only one I know of that’s vegan & cruelty-free, Clear Conscience). But seems it doesn’t come in containers smaller than 13+ oz (I think)–so for travel, I am wondering if it’s safe to pour some into another small plastic bottle or other such container–or is this a bad idea since the alternate container won’t have been sterilized? is it just a matter of cleaning it properly beforehand…? thanks for any thoughts on this.

Hello.
I got an eye exam today. I used to have -3.00 on both eyes but it lowered to -3.50 on both
The doctor said that i have astigmatism and i need to wear toric lenses? i just heard about them today.I used to wear normal lenses but now I have to buy expensive toric lenses.
The doctor gave me a free trail lens so I I put them on at the site. It was comfortable at the time but after I got out and while driving back home, it became uncomfortable quickly. (I put them on only for 20 minutes)

My question is:
1. can I just wear normal Acuvue2 lens that I used before? (It felt more comfortable than toric lens? or whatever that the doctor gave me. That lens is bigger than my brown part of eyes. The lens covers my white part of my eyes so if ppl see my eyes, they will know that i have my lens on & it looks a little weird cus the lense is a lttle bit blueish so there’s a circle blueish thing on my white part of eye balls. )

2. Do I only get the exact same lens from the prescription paper? Can I just buy regular ones?

3. Is my eye sight going to get worse if I don’t wear toric lenses?

I got contact lenses about 2 years ago and needed to get a new prescription, my health insurance doesn’t cover contact lenses so i took a regular eye exam this time. Now when i try to order my contacts online using my new prescription, i cant cause when i enter the power number(-6.75) they dont have it. They have -6.50 & -7.00, why is that?

also, idk if it makes a difference but im ordering acuvue for astigmtism, same kind i had before.

I have night & day contact lenses which I been wearing for 4 straight months with no problem. Until, recently about a week I started to get some blurry vision and some red eye. I took them off and put them in the case with solution overnight and happened again he next day.

I been using this AMO Complete Moisture Plus which I just found out that it was recalled because of some serious eye infections. I got rid of that and used the opti-free solution product to clean the current contact lens that I was wearing.

I just threw my current contact lens away and just wearing glasses for now.

What should I do?

I live in Anchorage, Alaska and I was wondering how much an eye exam costs. I don’t have insurance so I would be paying with cash or a credit/debit card–if that’s possible. Also, am I able to JUST get an eye exam & get a prescription WITHOUT getting fitted for contact lenses and all that good stuff? Thanks in advance for all your answers!

Can double vision be detected through medical exam and does it come & go multiple times over a few years (not induced thru alcohol or other). If person were possibly fabricating this condition, could a medical exam prove or disprove condition?

( I know…who would fake such a thing…but some people do fake symptoms that are hard to prove…maybe for attention or drama.)

I use proclear contact lenses and use opti-free contact solution with its case. I wash the case every month. My sister uses bausch & lomb and was told to replace her cases every month. They send her a box filled with cases, a new one for every month. I think that is to much. What do you guys think?

Why is it that Ciba Vision/Focus Dailies only make lenses with Base Curves of 8.6 and Diameters of 13.8

whereas

Johnson & Johnson/Acuvue only make lenses of Base Curve 8.5 and Diameter 14.2????

I don’t understand.

Does that then mean that depending on your prescription, you are restricted to which company you can buy lenses from???

I ordered them plano (no prescription) and for some reason, they’re blurry. I ordered them in 8.7 BC instead of the lower one for "more moisture." They are CIBAVISION elegance gray contacts (opaque).
I had the same problem with B&L in jade. I’d notice my pupil is not in the direct center of the contact but the color ring on the lens aren’t covering over…. I don’t know if they’re too big or too small.. They don’t slide or anything.

Perhaps since I’m new to contacts, my eyes haven’t adjusted having something in them yet? I can definately feel as if there’s something in them and they just get so foggy. Even when I clean them well… and insert more drops…

I have very poor eyesight. My prescription is -12.5S and -14.25D (this is the contact-lens version of my current glasses prescription). I am currently on a trial pare of CIBA Focus Monthlies with my eye doctor. They seem okay at first, but throughout the day I get halos around things sometimes through my right eye, and my left one sometimes moves off of my eye. I’ve been wearing them on and off for a couple weeks now.

The reason I keep taking them off is because they get dry and itchy. Originally I used Opti-free cleansor to find that my eyes would burn horribly whenever they got wet so I switched to Complete and they seem to be fine but neither has helped the dryness or itchiness. We’ve tried a special overnight solution that cleans any protein or calcium off of them but with no difference in results. I’ve also gotten prescription eye drops which helped slightly with the itchiness, but not the dryness at all… My vision with the contacts gets worse throughout the day as do the halos on the right and moving on the left.

Are they moving/blurry because of the dryness, or could it be something else?

I have read that these brands of contacts are good for dryness. Do you have any experience with them? (I don’t want them to tear while in my eyes..)

Thank you very very much. (My doctor has suggested the O2Optix, but says there is no warranty on them. They are 0 and if they don’t work, I’m out that money. I cannot go to another doctor because she is the only one in my area covered under my insurance.)

I am refilling my contact lenses but the optometrist I went to wouldn’t give me my full prescription unless I paid extra to go with their "trial" contacts and buy only from them.

So I’m looking to switch to another brand like Acuvue but the SAG & BC numbers are different, is there a way to convert?

From old box: Prescription= SAG = 3.75, Dia = 14.1
New Prescription = -5.50/-5.75, Cylinder = -0.75

Acuvue asks for either a 8.3 or 8.7 BC. Is there a way to convert?
