I got my eye exam and my vision has changed. I wear contacts and the measurements on the boxes say -7.00 for my right eye and -6.50 for my left eye. Honestly is this really bad? Im really sad right now because about two years ago (im guestimating) my prescription was -5.75. Is this a significant change for two years? What’s my eyesight measurement like in comparison with the average eyeglass wearer’s prescription?

I have a box of contact lenses that have a base curve of 8.5 but my previous boxes had a base curve of 9.0 (same brand). I only need to wear them about once a week for 2 to 3 hours. Would there be any health risks/damage to my eyes?

First tI ame ordering online, I’ve always ordered it through my doctor. My contacts came with the right power and everything (2 boxes different powers) but the CT was different, 0.085 for one and 0.10 for the other. Does lens thickness matter? It doesn’t show any CT on my prescription. I’m just trying to make sure before I open the boxes. Thanks!

My contact prescription expired just a few days ago, and i hadn’t realized that it was going to expire, so I didn’t make a new appointment for a new prescription. So, this morning, one of my contact lenses ripped and i don’t have a pair of back up glasses as i just never wanted to spend the money on them as i knew i wouldn’t wear them.
So, now i have one contact, no more boxes, and no glasses. How do i go about to fix this problem?

I want to order a pair of contacts from lensmart – I wear Ciba lenses, but have never tried Freshlook (they are disposables made by Ciba). I have a copy of my prescription – the only problem is that Freshlook have one diameter size, which is larger than what I normally get (8.6, 13.5 – Freshlook only come in 14.6). Does diameter matter a lot when it comes to contacts? I want Freshlook because I want brown colored lenses. I used to get Baush and Lomb lenses that were slightly larger than Ciba’s and was ok with them. Since the diameter isn’t even written on my prescription (I had to look on one of my contact lens boxes to get the diameter), they shouldn’t have a conflict when ordering, right? Since my prescription has to be verified, how do they do that? I typically order lenses from my eye doctor, but I’d really rather bypass them and order online. I’m afraid since I want to switch to Freshlook (even though they’re made by Ciba like my current lenses), they’d want to have me in for fittings. Maybe this is a good idea, but I’m quite certain I’ve already had lenses in the larger size before. There are Ciba SoftColors in the diameter size I’m used to that are available in an amber shade (these are daily wear lenses, which I prefer to disposables), BUT these are designed for lighter eyes. I have hazel eyes, and want a browner shade. The picture looks brown, but I don’t know if they’d be enough color for darker eyes like mine? Should I just go ahead and go with Freshlook, or go with the Softcolors? OR stick with what I have?

Just right now, I went to get an eye exam for contact lenses at National Wholesale Liquidators and I paid . However, when I asked for a prescription, she told me I would have to order two boxes of contact lenses from her and along comes the prescription. Under the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act (FCLCA), shouldn’t she have given me a copy of my prescription anyways?

Hi all I went to the Eye doctor about 2 weeks ago, and got new glasses coming. Well the scheduled my contact fitting exam for tomorrow. The fitting exam cost and lens cost around for both eyes, that’s the price the secratary gave me. They doctor wouldn’t give me a pirce. Is this price normal? How long will the boxes last, they are going to be 2 wks disposables? They also offered me contacts that last a yr, for 90$ for both eyes. I have an astigmatism, but the doctor told me isn’t strong enough to affect my contacts? I have never had contacts before, can any explain what they do on the fitting exam? Will I get contacts tomorrow? Or do they order them,and I will have to wait til they come in. I’m going to try to get a perscription and order online later on. but they said the first boxes I have to buy from the office. What online sites does everyone use? I picked up a prescription set of contact lenses, and realized that I got two boxes meant for the right eye even though I need one for both eyes. The prescription is the same, is it alright to wear them in the left eye even though they are labeled right? Or are contact lenses eye specific? I have dark brown eyes and I want to change my eye color to blue. I have been looking at FreshLook Toric blue lenses. I am going to the eye doctor tomorrow to see what is best. On my contact prescription, both of my eyes are exactly the same, except for the axis. My right eye has a 90 axis and my left eye has an 80 axis. Does a difference of 10 really make a huge difference? Is it possible to just to order one box of contacts with a 90 axis and use it for both eyes. I don’t have an extra 0 bucks for both boxes of contacts right now and my current contact just ripped. Will it matter much?

I recently got daily disposable contact lenses to wear them when I’m snowboarding. I wear glasses and I used to snowboard without glasses but my eye sights got worse(myopia -2.75, -3.00) and I can’t see the bumps on the slope well at dusk.
I’ll use the contacts only when I’m snowboarding.

So I got a disposable contact lens exam (1 day Acuvue) and it seems that the best price I could find on these are .50 a box. For 4 boxes (2 months), it comes out . They’ll be enough for this winter and maybe winter. I haven’t ordered yet.

Then I found out from a hot deals website that yoyou can buy 8 boxes of Acuvue Oasis (2 weeks disposable, 1 year’s supply) for just 1.98. I was wondering if I could order it without getting a new contact lens prescription and another question is if I open one up, how long can it last if I used only once? Like if I open a pair and use one day on this Saturday then put them in a contact lens case, can I use them next Saturday?
