To buy color contact lenses, you need to go to a doctor, have them check you out, and then they will issue you a prescription to buy the lenses. Usually they make it a hassle with the prescription so that you buy the lenses through them.

Why is one dangerous item (cigarettes) not regulated, but a harmless item (contact lenses) overly regulated?

I went to my eye doctor this week and was given Freshlook color contact lenses in green to try on for a few days. It’s not my first pair because I wore bausch & lomb clear lenses for over a year, but it’s my first tI ame wearing colored. When I wear Freshlook my eye get really dry, irritated, & I have a hard tI ame putting in the lenses because they are so thin, yet 2x bigger compared to my clear ones. I blink constantly and feel like when I close or blink the contacts are shifting! I’ve never had this much trouble- they’re so uncomfortable. So, I am going back this Tuesday to get a different brand. I think acuvue colors are next ANYONE OUT THERE EXPERIENCE THE SAME? ANY ADVICE ON PRESCRIPTION COLORED CONTACTS APPRECIATED THANKS!! =D

I’ve heard abou that FreshLook stuff- but the ones for astigmatism are so pronounced and un-natural looking as the ones w/ out astigmatism.

Where can you find some that actually look NATURAL for toric color contact lenses and astigmatism?

I’m looking for a green pair. Maybe a jade.
I can’t find any good ones!

Again, the FreshLook ones look WAY too UN-NATURAL.

Or do the regular ones look the same as the non-astigmatisms do?
