I’ve heard a lot of different things about colored contact lenses. Is the best place to get them at your eye doctor? How much do they cost? Do they cost more than normal contacts? Do they feel any different than a normal contact or effect your vision in any negative way?

So my mother has heard a weird rumor that the color from colored contacts can leak and cause permanent damage to your eyes. Is this true? For this reason she is not letting me get colored contacts. Please provide any proof if possible (my mother is very logical).
I personally think colored contacts are safe if purchased from opticians. I want to buy them at the Sears Optical Center. I am 14 years old and I have worn glasses for a few years now.

I would like to wear colored contacts every once in a while. And I have a very high prescription for both eyes, but my right eye is 1.0 point weaker. I have been able to get my hands on the right prescription contact lens for my left eye but not for the right eye since colored contact lenses at that power is not available. So I am wearing the SAME prescription for BOTH eyes. Is there any harm in not wearing the EXACT prescription for my right eye? My vision is ok and acceptable with it, but I am wondering if it will make my eyesight for my right eye weaker or do any other form of harm. Please answer only if you know about this. Thanks.

I have light green eyes and I am having problems finding a contact to darken them. I would like to find a lens that turns them a dark brown – not any type of golden, light brown or hazel shade. I can find lots of colored lenses made for people with dark eyes, but am having problems finding something for my light eyes.

Any suggestions??

I love whatever colored contact lenses that Kristen Stewart has on in the Twilight movies – she has light eyes, too. The darker colored contacts make her eyes look so pretty.
