My former doctor never used the snellen chart with me. He used this method involving different color lights. If I remeber correctly, the colors were red and green. From my understanding, it look liked he would start the light with extremely dim and ask if I could see certain numbers, which I wouldn’t be able to see until he gradually increase the light power to proper strength. I need to know because I’m seeing a new doctor for eye exam. I’m terrible at the eye snellen chart

I have this increaingly blur of things far away. I know I am near-sighted. This began about a year ago. A year ago, I never had glasses/contacts. I see double shadows, but I do not confuse colors. Double shadowing begins at about 1 meter away, but it is not that strong. About 4 meters away, it is slightly tronger. From wall to the opposite wall about 100 meteres, it is super blurred. I want to find what vision do I have, 20/40 vision, 20/30, what?

I read a lot and use the computer about 8 hours each day on the weekends. Not so mucch on weekdays. My monitor is actually an LCD screen so there isnt any radiation. My dad had eye near-sighted problems, and my brother got the same thing. I was told it was passed down by heredity. My mother had no problems with her eyes.

And please explain what happens at an eye exam? Procedures, the machines, everything.

And I heard you could focus youreyes back to 20/20 vision with glasses. You need to teach yourself to focus. True or no?

My friend has told me that I have to wear the brand that my Dr. prescribed because they measured my eyes and that would be the best fit. But I read somewhere that soft lens conform to the shape of your eye so it doesn’t really matter. It probably just matters the size of your pupil with the contacts. So I’m wondering, can I just wear any brand of contacts as long as they’re my prescription power?
My optometrist has recommended Freshlooks but I don’t really like them. I think they recommend Freshlook to almost everyone. That’s the only pamphlet I see in the office. I’m currently using Acuvue and Expressions colors. I’m asking about whether it’s safe to use any brand I choose against my doctor’s suggestion.

At first I bought green contact lens, and it wasn’t as noticeable as I wanted them to be. So I thought of buying a pair of blue ones. Then my dad tore one of my green ones! It’s totally busted, and it was supposed to last me 3 months, and I only got to use them for 5 days. I’m still upset. Now I’m left with ONE green contact. So if I buy green again, I’ll have 3 green ones. But if I buy blue,

I’ll have 1 pair of blue, and one green. Plus I remember watching "Memoirs of a Geisha" and one of her eyes were blue, and the other was green. Which is kinda cool, but I’m worried it might be too weird. Then again, my classmates say ‘I want one in red, zombie, white," and WAYY weirder colors.

Should I just get green again? Or get blue ones?

I went to the doctor and he gave me sample contacts to make sure I could use them (I had in the past from an MD years ago). He said I would have to go back and order them from hI am BUT everyone says it’s more $$ from a provider rather than buying direct from the manufacturer….
I know it’s a low RX but I use them for night driving and I have Heterochromia (2 different colored eyes) I wear colors so people don’t stare at me like a freak….I was wearing non RX from China but someone said not safe.

My eyes are a frosty ice-blue color and are pretty dull looking. I want colored contacts that will really make my eyes pop out, while having multiple colors mixed together (if that’s even possible).

I have medium brown hair and dark brown eyes. I’ve done tons (and i mean tons) of research and i think id like to get colored contacts.

If you watch TV in the dark, it’ll give you eye strain. Especially when the colors’ contrast changes too fast for your eyes to ajust. I learned that this does not damage your eyes but just gives it eye strain. Can this "exercise" help astigmatism?
