I currently wear the Frequency 55 toric lenses with a base curve of 8.7 and diameter 14.4, i was wondering if there are any contact lens brand that have colored lense for astigmatism. I searched up the FreshLook ColorBlends Toric Contact Lens but their diameter is 14.5, will .1 make a difference anyways?

I’ve been going to this place for 5 years and this year they stopped giving out free trial pair of contact lens. If I have known that, I would have went to another doctor. They looked at me funny as if they don’t know what a trial pair of contact lens is. The brand name stayed the same just the power changed. Where can I order a trial pair?
Also is this considered as "contact lens fitting" even though it’s the same brand name?
I have my prescription and exam with them and paid them. That’s why I was so pissed when they said they don’t give out trial pairs anymore.
How would I know if the prescription works for me if I don’t have a trial pair to try it on? For some reason, they have a hard time understanding that. I don’t want to order a entire year of contact lens (that’s how my insurance works) to find out later that the prescription doesn’t work for me.

my cornea got scratched a week ago and I haven’t been wearing my contact lens because of it. I have glasses but the other night someone accidentally sat on them, so they are crooked when I put them on and they keep slipping off my face. my other eye is fine, so would it be okay to wear one contact lens in that eye until my other eye clears up? or can I go to the eye doctor and have them fix my glasses for free?

The contacts I wear now dry out too quickly and are irritating to my eyes. I found coupons online for free trial pairs of contact lenses. If I take these coupons to the optometrist, would I be required to pay the like 75 dollar fee for a contact lens examination and everything?? Also, would it be alright if i brought in multiple coupons? I really really want to find a brand that can work for me.

I am currently out of USA, and ran out of my contact lens cleaner( opti-free) solution. Believe it or not , I will have to go 100 miles to get it, but in the meanwhile is there anything I can use to substitute the cleaner so my contacts won`t dry out. Please help….and thanx in advance.

I went to the Doctor for the first time by myself has an 19 year old. I wanted to get my eyes fitted for colored contacts to change my look. I would like to have from them my results on my eye exam, my results for my Contact Lens Evaluation and Fitting level and my Doctor’s name.
Should I have access to have my results for my eye exam and eye fitting for the contact lenses?

I started to wear ORTHOK night only Contact LENS on Jan. 2001. The prescription from the first Doctor is dated on Dec. 2000 is as below:
OD -3.00 -0.50 x 147
OS -2.50 -0.50 x 155
For the traditional Glasses, I discontinued to wear above lens. After two weeks (supposed the vision is reversed to the before correction), I visited another doctor and got the prescription was dated May 12, 2005 as below:
OD -3.50 -1.00 x 180
OS -2.50 -1.00 x 175
July 2005, I visted the first doctor and the precription for a new OORTHOK night only lens as below:
OD -2.75 -1.75 x 17x
OS -2.50 -1.25 x 180
Why these two precription are so different? Thanks.

Im 18 live in Canada.. I have a free eye exam (I have 3 free eye exams before i start paying) today and I was wondering if I need to pay extra to get a percription for contact lens. Last time I only got a percription for glasses, so this time when i get my updaded perscription for my glasses, could I ask to get a percription for contacts without no charge?

Had my annual, trying out a trial contact lens, the left eye is great but the right still a bit, slightly blurred, saw the doc today, different doc, the one I see wasn’t in today, this doc owns the practice and has done research on myopia. My vision for the past couple of years has been steady but now my left went from -5.50 to -6.00 and my right went from -5.50 to -6.50, he told me that’s not to big a change and said there was no reason for dilating my eyes or any other further test, he said I looked fine and it’s normal for people with myopia to go up but it seems like a a huge jump for my right eye, to go from -5.50 to -6.50 scares the hell out of me, am I going blind or something? He also mentioned that after a certain point you can’t get contact lenses, that some don’t go past -6.00?
Is it normal to go from -.5.50 to -6.50? What if it goes up again next year, do they even make contact lenses that go beyond -6.50? Completely scared, afraid that something is wrong.

Hi.. I know my prescription… I just need a new box of contacts. I went into the store with my prescription and my contact lens dimensions. They said they needed to do an eye exam every year, regardless of the fact that I want the same prescription. They said it was against the law to give out contacts if you don’t have a yearly eye exam. Is this true, or are they just trying to get more money out of me for the exam? I don’t need an exam!! Is there a difference between an eye exam and a contact eye exam in the US? I went in to get some glasses and contacts and the people claimed that it costs more to get a contact lens eye exam over just a normal eye exam. Is there such a thing? Is there any difference? I think I may have been scammed- need help.

I only need a contact lens in one eye and have just been given one for a trial. The problem is that I cannot see properly, everything is blurry whether close up or at distance. My vision is better when I remove the contact lens. I told the optician while I was there and asked to try a different type of lens but she told me my eye just needed to get used to it. But no matter how much I wear it the blur is constantly there and I am unable to see out of that eye. I have worn a contact in the past so know it’s not right. The prescription is definitely correct as it was verified by two opticians. Has anyone got experience of this? Could it be the wrong size or the maybe I don’t agree with that brand?
As my optician is clearly not interested in the fact it’s blurry, should I take my business elsewhere?
