I just bought contact lenses today.
I rinse it with multipurpose cleaning solution
and i store it with saline solution.
I checked several sites but they didn’t specify saline or multipurpose solution..
But i read that you store it with multipurpose cleaning solution? Then what is saline used for?
Am I wrong or right??

I am looking to purchase new contact lenses.(Have been wearing them for many years) Now that I have no insurance, I find that the optometrists are sky high. A few i called today, one of them wanted 0 and another . Just for the exam! I usually buy my lenses elsewhere at a better rate, but these optometrists seem to be raping the consumer if they decide not to pay for thier packet deals. So…can anyone from San Antonio TX refer me to reasonably priced contact lens exam, just so that I can get my prescription? I donot want no -300 package deal, just the prescription. Thanks!

I picked up a prescription set of contact lenses, and realized that I got two boxes meant for the right eye even though I need one for both eyes. I wore contact lenses for ten years and had this guy from the Lyon Contact Lens Center that was supposed to be sooooo Christian and when I told hI am I was thinking of getting lasik or whatever the exact term is he emphasized to me the "danger" of having that done.

I had it done a few years ago and found it to be painless, fairly affordable (1,000 USD) and got 20/20 vision from what was severe nearsightedness. My result has never changed over the years since the procedure. I never experienced one problem with it and I had two other family members do it at the same tI ame I did and they’re both fine too.

All the contact lens specialists in that office now as I recall always tried to get me to buy the most expensive latest model contact lens too even though they knew I didn’t need it and was a broke student!!!

What pisses me off is they are so endorsed by the Christian community and that is why I went with the guy’s recommendations for me to buy this or that for years.

I’m wearing eyeglasses since 10 years old and I’m still wearing it now that I’m 13 and my eye grade keeps on increasing. I hear that contact lenses reduces the eye grade so I suggested that to my mom and she won’t budge. I think I have to check on my doctor first but is it true that contact lenses reduces the eye grade? I think I have Myopia and I badly wanted my eye grade to decrease. I was very bad with my last pair of contacts. I kept having to go back to the doctor to get my prescription adjusted and, eventually, I gave up. I kept the last trial pair they gave me, and that was the end of it. About 7 months later (10 days ago), I developed a corneal ulcer in my left eye. (I know, I know….serves me right).

In any case, I took drops, the ulcer has healed, and my Dr. met with me Monday to fit me for new contact lenses. He prescribed the same exact lenses I was wearing two weeks ago (Acuvue Oasis, -7.0 and -6.5), so I expected to pop them in and see clearly again. However, as soon as I put them in (when I got home) I realized that something wasn’t quite right.
I can’t read street signs as well, I definitely can play pool, and even the computer screen is a bit blurry. I went back today and he tried to verify the prescription. He checked my eyes with the contacts in (even though the machine was fogging up b/c it was cold in there), and decided it may be tI ame
to adjust for the astigmatism in my right (dominant eye). I’m not sure why it didn’t matter two weeks ago and now it does but, in any case, I decided to go along with it.

I’m still wearing the Acuvue Oasis in my left eye (which is sooooo comfortable), but he gave me Acuvue Advance to wear in my right eye (same prescription as the non-toric lens, but with -.75 cyl).

My problem….I’ve been wearing them for about an hour now and still no I amprovement. Should I be able to see clearly as soon as I put them in? Do I need to keep wearing them and give my eyes tI ame to adjust to the different prescription?

I’ve been wearing soft contacts pretty much non-stop for 16 years, so it’s not like I’m just now trying to adjust from going from glasses to contacts. However, I had to wear my glasses this past week, so maybe that has done something?

I have a HUGE pool tournament this weekend and I REALLY need to correct my vision by then.

My doctor did test for shape changes, etc., as a result of the eye infection. No problem found. He said my eye health is fine (other than the fact that I are very nearsighted, obviously…hehe).

I would assume that rules out either of those two new problems. I can see well enough to read, type, etc….but my vision just isn’t as sharp. I feel its more like the prescription isn’t quite right, rather than a problem with my eye.

I’m just wondering why it’s been so hard these past two visits to get my prescription right, and if I need to allow tI ame for my eyes to adjust to the new (so-much-cleaner-than-my-last) contacts, or if its safe to automatically assume that this prescription is not right and make yet another appointment to go back and try again.
Whoops sorry, forgot to respond to part of that…

My vision isn’t perfect in my glasses, but that prescription is over 3 years old so I don’t expect it to be perfect. It’s good enough for me to see, read, drive, etc., and doesn’t give me much of a headache…but I can’t play pool in them and I have the same problem with them I’ve always had with glasses….starbursts around lights or objects with lights shining on them (like clean balls on a pool table). Hehe.

Over the past couple weeks my eyes have been turning red and bloodshot and I am blinking very often. I have switched to new contact lenses and the problem persists.

What possible infection could I have and any OTC remedies could I buy?
I’ve worn contacts for nearly two years and have never had this problem.
