I got a physical at the end of the summer. The nurse asked if i wore glasses or contacts, i obv. said no. I took the test, couldn’t read until the 3rd line down and she asked me if i was sure i didn’t wear glasses. She said i had 20/50 vision. Should i go to the eye doctor for an exam? Do i need contacts?

All of a sudden, couldn’t see out of my right eye, like I have a black blob or veil covering my eye, my vision is distorted so bad. The images I see seem like one of those mirror at a circus, if I look at a person, their face is very small and distorted and they look so far away. I have worn glasses all my life and have never had anything like this before. I went to a hospital, had a cat scan, nothing found, they sent me to an eye doctor, who checked me completely but saw nothing examined my eyes for glasses anyway. My vision has worsened, I tried to call him to tell him the problem but his optician in the office would not let me speak to him until I get and pay for my glasses, I will not get them until I find out what is wrong with my eye, I wanted the eye doctor to refer me to an opthomologist, but I can’t get him on the phone. I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything that could be wrong an opinion or something. It has been going on for the past 3 months, I had the eye exam in Feb and my vision has worsened.
My regular eye doctor was not able to work me in when this happened so I went to another eye doctor, an actual board certified eye doctor, the Optician is the one who will not allow me to see the eye doctor or speak to him by phone. All the opthomologists need a referral rom the eye doctor, which I’m sure he would, but I cannot get her to give him a message. The Optician has the store for glasses and is bascially mad because I would not get the eyeglasses from there, is all that I can think of

i just recently got contacts, whenever i wear them my vision can be blurred, and i have to blink a couple times to have it clear again. I used to have glasses and when i went to the eye doctor for an eye exam they said that my eyes got slightly worse, but my mom just wanted me to stick with my old perscription. is this why? i could see perefectly fine its just that its blurring at times, why is that? .. help and thank you.!

When I spoke to the doctor (I think he is) he told me that I had large pupils which is distorting my vision, And he told me even if he gave me glasses it will not correct the problem. I just got contacts and I am on my trial pair, Acuvue Oaysis. My contacts get cloudy and irritated in the middle of the day, around 2 p.m. I will probably change the contact lens brand after discussing this with my eye doctor in 2 weeks for my contact lens checkup, but for now I want a solution or eye drops that will clear up the cloudyness well and reduce irritation. I am currently using Opti-Free Replenish. So what’s a good solution for cloudy, irritated contacts during the day? Or eye drops.

My husband is 24 years old and has not had an eye exam since he was a very small child. Recently I have noticed that he holds the newspaper really close to his face in order to read it. I thought I was overreacting until we went to his Mother’s house tonight and he picked up the paper. She asked him when the last time he had an eye exam was because she also noticed that he was holding it very close to his face. I have worn glasses all my life and go to the eye doctor sometimes as much as twice a year because of changes in my vision. Am I just being paranoid or do I need to continue encourgaging him to get an exam? He’s very stubborn and doesn’t do well with doctors at all….

Ok so Im getting contacts soon and the eye doctor Im going to is a real jerk. Anywayz we paid 0 for an eye exam and glasses last year and it didnt really work out so now I am hoping to get contacts but the guy is saying that you have to get a completely different eye exam to get the right perscription to get contacts (he said it in a really funny way and thats all I got from it). So anyway my question is can I use the perscription I got from my last eye exam when we got the glasses to get my contacts off of 1-800 contacts or something?? Will it still work and everything?

My current insurance doesn’t cover vision and I was looking online for an eye doctor that gives a cheap eye exam or good deal on contacts or glasses (ex: free eye exam with purchase of contacts). I live in Indianapolis, IN around the Fishers/Castleton area. I tried to google "free eye exam" and I didn’t come up with much. Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can make this as affordable as possible since it will be out of pocket?

a current exam? My vision has not changed in 4 years, every year I got for an exam, every year its the same, yet I pay 0 each year for him to tell me the same thing, well is there any site where you can order contacts, and you dont need to show proof of a valid exam, or prescription? I know the specifics of my prescription (got a copy from the eye doctor) Its not that I’m cheap, I just think its a waste of money, if the contacts start seeming weak, then I would go in to be rechecked.

Yes, I know the purpose of the exam. I’ve been wearing contacts or glasses for 15 years, I think I would know if I was having any issues with my eyes. There are even eye doctors that write two year prescriptions, because they dont feel the eyes change that much in a year, unfortunately..mine doesnt. People can buy prescription drugs on the internet, but you cant buy contacts!

I use to have vision insurance, but now I don’t. I’m almost out of my contacts, so I called the eye doctor’s office and asked if they would order some more for me. he says he’s been here and there for eye exams for special contacts for this but gets the run around after they find out he doesn’t have no insurance what could be done for him to pass this test also he has to have a eye doctor sign the eye exam sheet.he says he tried to get financial assistance as well.he needs to see through the vision test.

I just recently got reading glasses for very slight nearsightedness (.50) and have been getting used to them. I get slight headaches if I don’t use them now. However, I have also noticed recently that I have had a little more trouble driving at night…light sensitivity and hard to distinguish between the road and area around it if it isn’t lit, etc. I know my dad had astigmatism. Could my nearsightedness and issues at night be astigmatism, or would my eye doctor have noticed this during the exam?

Today I went to the eye doctor for an exam because I need to order a pair of contacts. I couldn’t get the new pair of contacts unless I had an eye exam. Well, the doctor told me that my perscription hasn’t changed much. She told me that it might help if I wear a pair of cheap reading glasses to wear with my contacts that way I can see alittle bit better. She told me to get glasses with power 1 in them. I have never heard of wearing glasses with contacts before. I realized that the glasses do help when I wear my contacts because it makes me easier for me to read better. I am worried about my eyesight because I am only 21 and I have troubles seeing the blackboard and on top of that I have to wear contacts and glasses at the same time. Now I am worried because I am wondering is my eyesight going to get worse throughout the years? Am I going to have to wear contacts and glasses together all my life?
I thought it might help to add that I dont wear color contacts just the plain ones.

I recently just went to get contacts and the eye doctor told me that I had the same prescription and gave me contact lenses with the same prescription as my glasses. I had thought that contacts had to be a different prescription due to the difference in distance from your eyes compare to when wearing glasses. I also read somewhere that it made little difference in the power of the lenses if you were nearsighted, is that true?

I went from 20/175 TOO 20/20 does that mean dr. Bates really did learn how to cure the eye from myopia. When i took my took my exam the doctor kept looking at me with a weird grin on his face. It was scary. so my question are
Why did my eye doctor tell that i could use eye doctors when it was proven to work in some studies?

I’m 14 and I’m getting contact lenses very soon but my optician (eye doctor) is only letting me have 30 pairs for 3 months. He says I’m too young to wear contact lenses everyday so I can only wear them 2 or 3 times a week.
