Also, I got a free trial certificate from acuvue & freshlook. Does that include color contacts? And one last question, if I do need to see an eye doctor to buy colored contacts, how much does an eye exam cost (estimated)?

The fine print on most of them basically say:
1. cost of eye examination/fitting not included
2. you’ll probably need an eye examination
3. limit of one free trial certificate per person
4. none of them are "in-office" trials

I’m getting the examination anyways and I’m planning on sticking with the same brand, but I really just want a couple freebies so that I can get away with only purchasing 9 months of contacts (the $$$ amount covered by my insurance)

Number 3 seems to be the hang-up… do you think the one trial certificate per person applies across brands?

I can’t just go in multiple times because I’m going abroad in about a month and so I have to order the contacts within 2 weeks… I have astigmatism and a very strong prescription so they almost never have them actually in the office.

And do those "free trial coupons" actually get reimbursed to the Doctor if I bring one in, or are they strictly a marketing ploy on the part of the contact lens manufacturers?

The contacts I wear now dry out too quickly and are irritating to my eyes. I found coupons online for free trial pairs of contact lenses. If I take these coupons to the optometrist, would I be required to pay the like 75 dollar fee for a contact lens examination and everything?? Also, would it be alright if i brought in multiple coupons? I really really want to find a brand that can work for me.

When the trial was over and I was very pleased with the results I decieded to wear them full time. On my free trial appointment I was told the cost would be £9.00 per month. When i went back I was told my plan would cost £8.00 per month. That did not include my lenses. Which cost £12.00 per month at this time. I asked what the £8.00 was for and was told proffesional fees. Included on that was an eye test when needed. Relacement lenses if needed, check up when needed. Do all opticians charge a proffesional fee of £8.00 per month on top of the cost of the lenses, seems like they’re charging me this additional fee just to order my lenses for me. Is this standard practice?
The trouble is my optican is always very reluctant to give me my prescription, or my childrens prescription. I wanted to get my childrens eye wear from elsewhere and asked for their vouchers. It turned quite confrontational.

I just recently had my exam and stuff for contact lens and i got the free trial ones…I have to come see the doc tomorrow for a check up and to order the contacts. He hasn’t gave me the prescription yet and I don’t know if i want to order my contacts there. I think it would be much cheaper online. Do I tell my doc that I want to just get the prescription and buy it somewhere else or just order it there?
Their contacts are about 60$ and i think its for a box, i’m not sure.
Oh and how much more is it if you want to get colored eye contacts?

I’ve been wearing my contacts for two weeks now and my free trial is expired and I have to buy my own contacts and solution now. My eye doctor has recommended that i use opti-free plus but they cost like for a big bottle in target and when I was in Costco I saw a 2 pack of the big bottle of a different eye solution called ReNu MultiPlus Multi-Purpose Contact Lens Solution. Can I go against my eye doctor and but that instead? It’s much cheaper. I mean it does the same thing right?

i have an access card and am insured with Highmark blue shield, and i want to get colored contacts. i have a 30day free trial, but it involves going into the eye doctors for a eye exam and all that good stuff. and i was wondering how much it would cost for me. Would my insurance cover any of it? because my mother told me it usualy cost’s her around 0 for a eye exam with hers (she dosnt have the same insurance as i do.) And I am not able to check my coverage with highmark because something is wacky with the acount.

So, i just got my contact lenses from my family eye doctor …
i think i did pretty good considering putting them on and off ,
plus i’ve read almost EVERY info. i could find on the internet about taking care of lenses etc …
my doctor gave me a 2 week free trial of Air-Optic for Astigmatism.
i dont really like them … maybe is just I am not use to wearing contacts

BUT anyway ~ i would like to try some other brands and some colored contacts such as Acuvue, GEO, FreshLook, etc etc .
although my parents said ive to go to the doctor’s office to re-fit them when ever i try on new lenses … I am not sure if they are right or what so ever,cuz i thought as long as you have your right prescription and stuff you could juz order them off on-line or in store as long as its legit ?

also another question can i just wear soft lenses instead of those special Astigmatism ?? and what’s your favorite brand ??
but my eye doctor say that they don’t have any of those colored contacts i want

uhmm…i really want to buy some colored contacts but ppl say i need a prescription even though i have 20/20 vision.

okay so i want to get colored contacts but i wanted to try the free trial first.

i sent in all my information and then they sent me a certificate to my email for a free in-office trial

so does that mean they will give me prescription ones?
do i get to wear them out of the office?

because i have an eye-app. today and i am currently wearing my LAST pair of contacts.
last tI ame i went in for a checkup, they took my contacts out. i don’t remember if he gave them back to me. but if he doesn’t i’m screwed because i don;t wear glasses…. and my parents said they won’t buy me contacts at the office, they will only order them cause they are cheaper…

Ok I wear Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus (so they like disappear one in my eye [really comfortable]). Well I was curious about getting color contacts (you know, just to see how they would feel on my eyes and see if they really work). Well I printed off a free trial for FreshLook Color Contacts and I took that in and they said that they were gonna give me the tinted kind just to try before trying the color. Well it feels like small bits of dirt are in my eyes at points. Do FreshLook usually feel like that? (I think its cause I have very sensitive eyes). I guess it really doesn’t matter cause I’m just planning on TRYING them, not buying a box. I was just wondering if anyone else had problems with comfort and dryness. Thank you for answering.
