I’ve got three different brands of contact lens solution that have been stored at my parents’ house for about a year or a year and a half. I don’t live with my parents, but am currently visiting them for an extended period of time. I would like to know:

1) Is it okay to use 3 different brands interchangeably (i.e. I have Opti-Free, equate and ReNu) , or is that not advisable for some reason and messes up the contacts somehow if they are exposed to isotonic solutions that are slightly different?

2) All three solutions are within their expiration dates, however, I have had them opened and not used them for at least 6-8 months. They have been stored at room temperature in a dark place. Can I still use them, or is it not advisable to use them if they have been sitting out after being opened for that long in the medicine cabinet?

Hello people.

I am going for a vision exam next week and I think I have 20/50 or 20/100 or 20/200 vision. All I know is that I have trouble seeing objects in the distant (mainly writing) – short sightedness. To what extent is vision no longer correctable to 20/20 by:

a) glasses
b) contact lenses
c) laser eye sugery

So, what is the poorest vision you can have before corrections can not be made to 20/20? I have always wondered this question.
Sorry I wasn’t specific. I had 20/20 but teenage years took a toll on that. Both of my parents are long-sighted however as they require glasses for reading close up.

I have contacts but I haven’t been always washing my hands when handling them, falling asleep in them, and they’re over a month old. My friend said eye doctor can see when you didn’t take care of your contacts even if there aren’t any infections. What can I do to improve my eye health starting now so I’ll get good "results" at my exam? It’s really important becasue I want to keep wearing my contacts and will take better care of them from now on but if the doctor says anything my parents might not let me wear contacts anymore.

i bought contacts without my parents knowing.
and few months ago, my mom was in my bedroom, and i THINK she saw my contact case and that solution. but i was in school.so she doesnt know that i know,she knows.
Help!
Im moving house few months later.
And i brought a bigger contact lens solution few months ago.
now that i have two bottle of that solution and the contact case,
how should i hide it?
the soulution is one big and one small bottle.
how am i gonna hide that?
i know how to hide the contact case,by putting it in my wallet, but what about the solution bottle?
the big bottle is the size of the small drinking bottle.
while the small one is like half the size of the drinking bottle.

HELP ME!!!!
My parents are strict.
especially my father.
I cant let them know.
DONT ANSWER LIKE; just tell them! they will understand!
I dont want and need that answer.

however my other cousin [ her brother ] and her parents doesn’t allow her.

and they wont allowed her to buy it anywhere out of the usa.
( but she founded a place in the usa but still, they wont let her buy it cause the seller who is selling it, isn’t a "expert"

I just got contacts recently, and the doctor gave me Bausch and Lomb PureVisions as a trial pair. They are really comfortable, but my parents want to buy a cheaper contact lens.

I am new at wearing contacts (only for a month)My eye doctor told me that I can replace the case for my lenses every 3 months and to just rinse it with warm water everyday and let it air dry. Recently, I have been doing research on how to care for them and the site said to replace the case every month and to rinse with clean solution. I am not going to say its a bad idea, but it can get really expensive because your not using the solution to clean the lens (my parents can’t buy large amounts of it). My question is does it matter if I don’t clean the case with solution and replace my case every 3 months like I was told to?
