I just asked this question but didn’t get many answers.. please help
Ok so I just want to get some colored contacts for fun and was wondering if you put in the contacts before applying make-up or afterwards? Also, what "sphere" would I need to order? Do I just order a "0.00" if I have no sight problems? I don’t want to damage my eyesight by getting a "sphere" that is too high for me. I just want it so that it’s perfectly clear -nothing added or subtracted. I don’t want these contacts for seeing purposes -they’re just for fun. Last but not least, can you give me directions on how to clean and care for the contacts? How long do Fresh Look Colorblends last? Do they expire? Thanks

I also noticed people will get a different "sphere" for their different eyes like +5.00 for the left eye and -6.00 for the right eye. If I’m just getting these for cosmetic purposes, would I just get a 0.00 for each eye? That means I only need to buy one set because each set comes in a pair with 2 lenses? thanks again

FYI, I’m buying these contacts online since they’re not prescription or anything. Will the expiration date be on the box? Is it usually on the box? I know that they’re not the "one day" contacts so I’m assuming they’ll last for a month or longer.. not sure.

I want to order circle lens but i dont know how. My prescription is so confusing to what other websites have. If anyone can help? It says -4.50 -1.25×080 bc 8.7 on one eye and the other says -5.00 sphere bc 8.6. I only have astigmism on my right eye. Does anyone know where i can find them for cheap but good material? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!:)

I recently got an eye exam and my first contact lens fitting. On my prescription, I was given the strength, and brand of my contacts. I called my optician’s office a few days later asking the secretary to look through my records and tell me what my Base Curve and Diameter was since it was omitted from my prescription. I found out that my Base Curve was 8.6 but the secretary stated there was nothing on record about the Diameter? So what the heck does that mean? Is the Diameter of my contacts not I amportant?
My contact brand is Coopervision’s Biofinity Sphere. I looked online for the contacts and at certain contact stores they offer different Diameters? That’s why I was kind off thrown off? It only comes in one Base Curve, but I don’t know what’s up with the Diameters and I’m frankly surprised nothing was written down on my record =/
I checked Coopervision’s website (http://www.coopervision.com/us/patient/contactlenses/brands/biofinity/biofinity/) under the related topics there’s a .pdf file called "biofinity package insert" and on the first page it says:

BIOFINITY SPHERE and ASPHERE contact lenses parameters:
o Diameter: 13.5 mm to 15.0 mm
o Base Curve: 8.0 mm to 9.5 mm
o Center Thickness: 0.08 mm to 0.15 mm (varies with power)
o Powers: -20.00 D to +20.0 D

Should I go see my optician in person and clear this up?

I went to the doctor and he gave me sample contacts to make sure I could use them (I had in the past from an MD years ago). He said I would have to go back and order them from hI am BUT everyone says it’s more $$ from a provider rather than buying direct from the manufacturer….
I know it’s a low RX but I use them for night driving and I have Heterochromia (2 different colored eyes) I wear colors so people don’t stare at me like a freak….I was wearing non RX from China but someone said not safe.

Is there any way to tell what my prescription (for glasses) is based my contact lens prescription?
My contact prescription says something like:
BC 8.6
DIA 14.2
PWR -4.75
And for glasses, I need to know:
Sphere (SPH), Cylinder (CYL), Axis, PD (Pupil Distance), Mono R, Mono L, and Near PD?
I already have glasses, but I have no idea what the prescription for them is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I’m taking a trip to the optometrist’s to get high oxygen soft contact lens, and I would like to know beforehand what my contacts prescription would be, converted from a glasses one.
My current prescription is:
sphere, cylinder, axis
OD -11.50, -75, 196
OS -11.25, -100, 180
Yes, I have severe myopia. I tried gas permeable hard contacts, but they’re just too uncomfortable.

I’ve always been told my vision is 20/20. Recently I went to get an eye exam so that I could get plano lenses to change my eye color a little, and the optometrist said I needed a mild prescription:

Right…
Sphere: -0.25
Cylinder: -0.75
Axis: 020

Left…
Sphere: -0.25
Cylinder: -0.25
Axis: 175

What do these measurements mean? And is it advisable to ask for plain lenses anyway? I’ve never worn a prescription before and I don’t really see a point to wearing them if my vision seems fine.

I’ve been told that contact lens prescription usually need to be 0.5 – 1 lower in strength?

Hi! one of my eyes has -6.25 sphere as a prescription… But many places where I order contact lenses from only offer -6.0 or -6.5… would either of these be close enough to my actual prescription of -6.25 to use occasionally? (I wouldn’t be wearing them everyday). If so, which would be "better", -6.0 or -6.5? Or should I really stick to -6.25? The website that offers -6 and -6.5 is very cheap, while the lenses that I can get in -6.25 are very expensive. What should I do? I’ll be using the lenses very rarely… Any advice would be appreciated… thanks!!!!

My eye doctor wrote +175 for the sphere of my right eye. Is it really +175 or actually +1.75? I am trying to order contact lenses online and i realized the highest power i can select for contact lenses is +9.00

What would my contact lens prescription be approximately?

I have an eyeglass prescription but I need to know what strength a contact lens would be in this prescription. I obviously know that I would need a fitting for the contact lens but right now I just need the strength of each contact lens. The place where I got my eyeglass prescription a month ago is now closed down so i cant get information there.

I love my new Frequency 55 soft toric contact lenses and would like to continue to wear them. However.. I am not able to order contacts online because of my "odd" prescription. It seems that yoyou can only enter multiples of 10 for your prescription numbers.
For example: On every single website I went to, yoyou can only enter 170 or 180 for the axis. The axis on my left eye is 175. Same problem with my sphere, the lowest number I found on any site is .75, my sphere is.25. What is up with this? My optometrist said my lenses would be a box from their store. I do not want to pay that much.. but I go online to ANY contact lens website and I can’t even enter my numbers. I have a different RX in each eye and very bad astigmatism.
Are these websites made only for people who have "normal" prescriptions? Should I call these sites and ask? I am not about to pay 0 for 2 boxes of lenses at the optometrist!
