Which Contact Lens Solution Is the Best? Aquify Vs. Opti-free Vs. Clean Clear?
i just got contacts yesterday and the doctor gave me a trial of aquify solution to try. however, it’s running out already (it’s a pretty small sample) and i’m looking to buy a large bottle of multi-purpose solution. i heard a lot of good things about opti-free express but i also heard that it can cause irritation.. are there any benefits that opti-free provides that aquify doesn’t? and what about clean clear? which is the gentlest/most moist on eyes? TIA!
also, are you allowed to bring the large bottles of contact solution on flights? like 10 oz +? because the TSA website states "All prescription and over-the-counter medications (liquids, gels, and aerosols) including lubricating jelly, eye drops, and saline solution for medical purposes are permitted. You are not lI amited in the amount or volume of these items you may bring in your carry-on baggage. BUT if the medically necessary items exceed three ounces or are not contained in a one-quart, zip-top plastic bag, you MUST declare to one of the security officers at the checkpoint for further inspection." but has anyone had any trouble with the LARGE bottles of solution? thanks!!!

It really depends on your eyes. My optometrist told me it doesn’t matter which solution you use – they all perform the same. The only difference is that they have their own unique preservative that can irritate your eyes.
I’ve used Opti-Free all my life with no problems; I’ve used 3 other name-brand solutions as well with no issues.
The only problems I’ve encountered are the cheaper store-name brands. It seems quality is a bit lacking in terms of cleaning and disinfecting power.
