Why Are Lenses for Astigmatism More Uncomfortable?

I have been wearing contacts for astigmatism as long as I have had contacts. I find mine to be comfortable, but I often tI ames see on here that they are not as comfortable as regular contacts. Just out of curiosity, why is that?

because most astigmatism designs are thicker on one edge, vs non-astigmatism designs that are the same thickness all the way around.

really the only people who notice are:

    1) those who used to wear non-astigmatism lenses but recently gained astigmatism & were forced to switch to lenses for astigmatism

    and

    2) those who wear an astigmatism lens in only 1 eye
