Will I Loose My Sight if I Wear Soft Contact Lenses?

I heard that people may loose their sight while wearing soft contact lenses. Is it true if yes Can you tell me how many people (in %) lost their sight because of soft contact lenses? And how they looses their sight because of bad caring? Is a very small mistake can make soft contacts users loose their sight?

Uh, I’ve never heard of that. I’ve worn soft contacts for about 5 years and nothing has happened.

I’ve worn contacts for over 20 years and my eyes are just fine! The only thing that ever happened to me was, many years ago I didn’t realize saline solution wasn’t the same thing as the cleaning/storing solution and so I just used saline solution to store my contacts in at night. One of my contacts got damaged and then it caused a minor scratch on my eye which healed.

Your sight will neither loosen nor tighten by wearing contacts.

I don’t think so. Lots of people are using contact lenses for years and there are no reported issues like this. If soft contact lenses will make you lose your site, then it will be blocked and out on the market. There’s a case that contact lenses made a woman blind, it’s when she slept with her contact lenses on.

Yes it can happen if you do not take care of them. Dirty lenses, sleeping in them, and not replacing them with new ones when they need it.

So, no you will not loose your eye sight from the lenses themselves. If you get an infection from the lenses then maybe. Just make sure you take care of them the right way!!
