Will there ever be contact lenses you only have to take out once a year or every few months?

I have tried wearing contact lenses, and once I get them in, they are fine. However, getting them in and out is a pain in the butt. Are there any/will there ever been any contacts that yoyou can put it like once each year or every few months?

Any info would be much appreciated.
